Small Breckenridge Wedding Celebration
Daniel and Danielle
A few weeks ago I had the honor of capturing Daniel and Danielles wedding celebration. This was a special one for me, as Daniel is my boyfriends brother, and I was beyond excited to be able to capture this day for them. The two of them got married a while back at the courthouse, and they wanted to get together with the family and dress up and celebrate the two of them. I can’t express how much I love when couples throw celebrations after their elopements. It’s a great opportunity to include family in a day that was privately your own. It can also be so fun to get re-dressed up and go explore for great photos.
Getting Married in Breckenridge in May
I truly think late spring is an amazing time to get married in the Colorado mountain towns. Mainly, because of what they call “mud” season. Sure, that can sound a little …well, muddy. But the truth is the in-between season is a great time to have a Small Breckenridge wedding. You get to avoid the crowds and crazy traffic which is a huge win. You likely will have some snow at least in the background if not snowing on your day of. This was May 15th and it was in the 40s and we had snow showers throughout the day. It would go from white out snow for 20 minutes back to sunny for a bit. Classic Colorado May weather.
If you are ok with weather possibly being a little iffy, the shoulder season is great. Hotels are typically cheaper in the area during this time frame as well. Just be aware that many of the restaurants could be shut down more due to it being shoulder season. So keep that in mind when planning your dinners, etc.
The Lodge at Breckenridge
Daniel and Danielle decided to get rooms at The Lodge at Breck which is one of my favorite spots in the area. They did not host a wedding ceremony here as they didn’t have a ceremony this day, and we were just celebrating their marriage. But they did have their dinner on site. They got a reservation at the hotels restaurant for after we were done with family photos. It made for the perfect setting to end the evening. If you are a couple looking for a getting ready space before your small Breckenridge wedding, definitely check The Lodge.
