The Rose Golden Wedding with Red Rocks Ceremony
Mat and Shantai’s Snowy Denver Wedding
This wedding! Soooo much love for this day. This wedding was originally supposed to be photographed by my friend and fellow photographer Alyssa Carpenter. Alyssa reached out earlier this year when she found out she was expecting. She asked me to take over a small handful of weddings for her, this being one of them, as she would be welcoming her sweet baby girl into the world. I feel so honored that she trusted me to take over Mat and Shantai’s day for her.
This gorgeous oh-so-Colorado wedding this fall was incredible. The kind of fall Colorado day that goes from Autumn to Winter in a matter of a few hours. All week I had seen the forecast for snow. While I love the ease of good weather on a wedding day, I was secretly hoping for some pretty snow! We had snow this same weekend the past two years so I was not at all surprised when we got a gorgeous snowfall all afternoon. The day started off cold but clear and the snow hit just before we made our way over to Red Rocks Park for their ceremony. The best part was that Mat and Shantai were all about it and not at all bothered about the weather. Best advice I can give to planning couples… Don’t let weather stress you out. You’re going to get what you get, just embrace it!
Red Rocks Wedding Ceremony
By the time we made it to Red Rocks, the snow was coming down hard. Thankfully though there wasn’t a crazy amount of wind. Something to keep in mind about Red Rocks if you are planning your ceremony there, is that there really is no backup plan for inclement weather. So when it rains, when it snows, etc… you just have to roll with it. And that we did! Let me tell you though, if you must hold your ceremony in a blizzard, at least your photos will turn out beautiful. Yes it was cold. Yes some of the girls toes were frozen. Yes the guests had to bundle up for 30 minutes… But was it worth it? Heck yeah it was. And I assure you us Colorado wedding photographers are used to this. We know this is how it goes and we are here for it! A Red Rocks Ceremony is a beautiful backdrop in perfect weather. But I will argue that it is even more beautiful in a snow storm.

The Rose Venue in Golden, Colorado
This was my first time photographing a wedding at The Rose Venue in Golden. And I really hope it is not my last. This venue is amazing. Buffalo Rose is already one of my favorite brunch spots in town, so being able to shoot at their event venue had me so excited. Located in downtown Golden, Colorado, its a perfect modern yet classy spot for a celebration. Not to mention the team I worked with was just incredible. Everyone was on top of it. After being in this industry for 10 years, you can tell who knows what they’re doing. And I promise you The Rose Event Venue knows whats up. I highly recommend The Rose Venue in Golden for your Denver area wedding!
