Mountain Elopement in Breckenridge Colorado
Molly and Justin
Late fall is a gorgeous time of year in Colorado. While yes, in the mountains we can have blizzards and crazy weather around this time. However we can also have really gorgeous sunny days, with clear trails at low elevations, and lots of snow at higher elevations. It can make for the perfect time of year for a mountain elopement in Breckenridge, Colorado. Starting in November I usually tell my couples to be prepared for anything weather wise. Which is exactly what I told Molly and Justin, but come their wedding day it was absolutely perfect. It was just slightly chilly and sunny for their ceremony, with minimal wind up on top of the mountain. It is important to remember for all of you wanting portraits up above 10k feet, especially from October onward… The wind can get insane. Layers will be your best friend!

If you are looking to plan your own mountain elopement in Breckenridge Colorado area, definitely reach out to me for your photo needs! Breckenridge is one of my favorite locations to shoot an elopement and there are plenty of great spots that are accessible at different times of the year. And the best thing about hiring a Colorado Wedding Photographer is that we know all the best spots to take you for photos! Whether you want a more secluded forest spot or above tree line, we can help you find the perfect location.
Pro Tip when planning an outdoor elopement: Keep your witnesses to a minimum! When you have more than 6-8 additional people outside of you two, and any vendors, it can be harder to find spots that are appropriate and still follow leave-no-trace principles. Of course there are spots that you can reserve, like Sapphire Point or Windy Point Campground, that will allow you to bring in chairs and have up to 30 people. But they can be overly crowded with tourists, and cost you a fee. Most of us will be familar with spots that you wont have to rent. You just need to be ok with cutting that guest/witness list down, as well as the possibility of having to make last minute changes due to other unforeseen reasons. AKA.. its always good to have a backup plan. And us Colorado elopement photographers can help you plan one!
