Wowwwza this wedding was so dope. Epic people, a huge dance party with a laser light show, and it definitely poured rain during their ceremony and they just straight rolled with it! It was pretty epic and I am going to say this because its true… Rain on your wedding day is GOOD LUCK! I swear Steffanie and Austin got all the luck on their day. It was rainy and cloudy and moody and just so perfect. Not to mention it took place at one of Colorado’s best wedding venues.. a Blackstone Rivers Ranch Wedding.
The Best Colorado Wedding Venue Near Denver
I am a huge fan of Blackstone Rivers Ranch. To be honest, this is one of my favorite venues in this state. Maybe because it reminds me so much of the redwoods in California. And I loooove California and the redwoods. I think its just such a gorgeous spot nestled in the mountains but it also isn’t crazy far from Denver either. Its a spot that is great for 150+ people but can also be amazing for smaller groups. You just feel like you have run away into the forest and it feels secluded and private and their tent on property is gorgeous! You cannot go wrong with this spot. The Wedding Day
Austin and Steffanie’s Blackstone Rivers Ranch Wedding started off hanging out and getting ready for the day. I spent my time with Austin for majority of the day as I was second shooting under Alyssa Carpenter Photo for this wedding. Austin and the guys were so chill and down to earth. Austin told me all about the plans for later in the evening that included a smoke and lazer show with Ignight Entertainment. They are known to throw epic dance parties for music lovers, and let me tell you they did not disappoint!
As the day progressed so did the rain. In fact, it poured rain throughout the majority of their wedding ceremony. Most people are a little scared of the rain, but these two said screw it! They were troopers and kept their ceremony almost completely on schedule and we had so much fun in the rain. It was utterly romantic if you ask me. Y’all… if you have rain in your forecast on your wedding day, DON’T PANIC! To be honest us photographers LOVE a rainy wedding day. The light is perfect all day. Plus rain is good luck on your wedding day.
After the ceremony the rain let up and cleared out (as it almost always does in the later evening on rainy days here in Colorado). As a Colorado Wedding Photographer, I am so used to these quick afternoon showers. And as expected, it always clears out and the temperature cools down. It makes summer outdoor weddings even better with the cool air. The temperature got cool enough on this day that they had the heaters going under the tent in August! It was incredible.
From adorable first dances, to cutting their beautiful cake, to partying late into the night. This rainy Blackstone Rivers Ranch Wedding was one for the books!
