Chautauqua Park Proposal in Boulder
James and Bianca
I absolutely love shooting proposals. They are so much fun to capture such a sweet moment. This Chautauqua Park Proposal in Boulder was so beautiful. James reached out to me saying he wanted to propose to his girlfriend at this spot, and I was stoked to help out! Chautauqua Park is one of the most picturesque spots in Boulder. The views there are gorgeous and there is next to no hiking required. Just a fairly easy walking trail to this spot in the park. In the summer, like when these were taken, the grass is green and the light on a sunny day is just stunning. I think July and August might be my favorite months for chautauqua park engagement sessions and portraits. Although Fall is a close second. You can see another of my favorite Chautauqua Park Couples Sessions Here. This other session linked was shot in the fall.
Having a Chautauqua Park Proposal
When planning your own proposal in Chautauqua Park, you will want to first make sure whatever photographer you hire will have the Boulder OSMP permit for working there. This is required for anyone working in the park. I always have this permit and am ready to shoot at this park year round! The best thing about this park is its vastness. You can be shooting along with a handful of other photographers and pretty easily work around them. During the week will always be less busy, and if you are shooting during prime seasons (usually summer and fall) I highly suggest trying to plan your Chautauqua Park on a weekday. Monday through Thursday will always be less crowded. Weekends you will deal with many others having photo sessions in the park, as well as many visitors, tourists, and local hikers.
No matter what though, this park makes for a perfect backdrop for your session!
