Boulder Colorado Engagement Session at Chautauqua Park
Julie and Greg’s Boulder Engagement Session
Boulder, Colorado has some of the most picturesque backdrops that make for the perfect location for your engagement session and Chautauqua Park is one of my favorite spots for engagement photos. But not just for sessions, also for elopements and weddings. You can read more about how to have your elopement here (and even how to have more than a 10 person wedding at this spot) on my TOP 25 PLACES TO ELOPE IN COLORADO PAGE .
This Chautauqua Park Engagement Session is one for the books! Julie and Greg are the absolute cutest and the way they interacted with each other was so adorable. I will tell you a little bit about their engagement session… First we started the evening in the main area of Chautauqua park. The spot with the flatirons in the background is so versatile and because the park is huge, you can easily work around other people. We chose a weekday to avoid insane amount of crowds. Early October is such a popular time for outdoor activities here, so opting for a weekday works best this time of year if you are not wanting to get up for a sunrise session.
(But quick note.. Sunrise is pretty gorgeous at these two spots we shot at for their engagements too…. Check out this SUNRISE WEDDING that took place at both lost gulch and chautauqua park)
After shooting down at Chautauqua park for a while, we made our way up flagstaff mountain to Lost Gulch Overlook. You can never go wrong with ending a session up here. This is such a great spot to end a session. I like to shoot here last because we are higher up on the mountain and the sunset is slightly later up here. When down at Chautauqua park the sun falls behind the mountains fairly quickly at sunset. So you have to take that into consideration when it comes to timing. I think we timed this Boulder Engagement Session perfectly!
Please note, if you are wanting your session or wedding up at either of these locations, your photographer DOES need a proper permit. These permits are not expensive and will give you access of all of the different OSMP parks located in the Boulder area.
