Lost Gulch Engagement Session

Having Your Engagement Session at Lost Gulch
When I think about all of the spots that Boulder has to offer for engagement sessions, this might just be my favorite that you can drive right up to. This Lost Gulch Engagement Session was so fun. It was super moody weather and we had tons of cloud coverage which is my favorite weather to work with. Shooting at Lost Gulch though isn’t always the easiest. In fact, I always recommend to avoid weekends at this location unless you are open to a sunrise time. This particular session was done on a weekend. We had to work around about 8 other photographers doing sessions up there and a good 30-40 people just hanging out. While it is doable, being able to avoid the crowds makes the session much easier. If you are a photographer wanting to shoot up here make sure to get your Boulder OSMP permit prior to the session.
This particular day was so magical. Michelle and Eric are the freeking cutest and I had the best time with the two of them. We were able to sneak away from the crowds and take our time since we got there early. Most people don’t even realize that there is another little overlook area just a short walk down a trail. It makes for a good location to shoot at when the main lookout is busy. The views from up at Lost Gulch are literally so gorgeous. We all know that Boulder has some pretty epic shooting locations but I truly think this one takes the cake for being so close to the city. And the sunsets up here are AMAZING. I definitely suggest taking an evening if you are local to Boulder and just go sit and enjoy the sunset here.
