Denver Pet Portraits with Finn

Last night’s Denver pet portrait session with Finn, the sweetest yellow lab in Denver, was everything I love about photographing pets. We spent the evening capturing his playful personality while strolling from his owner’s apartment to the Denver Art Museum. Finn is the kind of dog who believes he’s a lap dog, even though he’s definitely not small—and honestly, it’s so dang cute.
As a Denver pet photographer, I know treats are the key to success, and Finn was no exception. We came prepared with plenty, and he happily showed off his best moves in exchange. Whether he was sitting like a gentleman, rolling in the grass, or nudging my camera for more attention, every moment was a photo-worthy one. He was definitely showing off all evening.
The setting outside the Denver Art Museum was perfect for this Denver pet portrait session—urban meets playful, with pops of greenery and interesting architecture. Finn made himself right at home on the museum lawn, rolling over for belly rubs and soaking in all the love and attention. His energy was contagious, and I couldn’t stop smiling the entire time. He also loves to walk himself which is the cutest thing ever, and everyone else thought so too.
Pet portraits are always special, but there’s something extra joyful about capturing a dog like Finn—goofy, loyal, and full of life. Sessions like this remind me how much pets are part of the family, and it’s an honor to freeze these memories in time. If you’re thinking about booking your own Denver pet portraits session, let Finn’s story be your sign. Grab some treats, find your favorite spot in the city, and let’s create something fun and meaningful together. You won’t regret capturing moments like this with your fur-baby.
