Michelle and Eric’s Baby Announcement

Even when there is no snow, I love winter sessions at Chautauqua Park. This baby announcement session from December 2023 was exactly that kind of day. Kind of cold, a little dreary, but surprisingly mild for winter in Colorado. The Flatirons stood soft and moody in the background, and as always made for the best backdrop. I love Boulder couples sessions and Boulder Family sessions captured at this park. It’s one of my faves for good reason.
This session was especially meaningful to me because this sweet couple isn’t new to my camera. I photographed their engagement photos in boulder back in 2020, and their wedding in 2021, and getting to document this next chapter for them felt incredibly full-circle. Especially since we chose a location so close to where their engagement photos were taken.
As a boulder family photographer and boulder wedding photographer, these are the moments that mean the most. Being invited back in to capture life as it continues to unfold.

Even without snow, Chautauqua proved once again why it’s a location you really can’t go wrong with. The open space, the mountain views, and the natural beauty hold up in every season. Winter just brings a quieter, slower energy that makes moments like this feel even more intentional. When it comes to Boulder family sessions, I love a nice calm vibe. Boulder parks can get so crowded. Winter time gives us more peace during a session in the evenings for sure. As a Boulder wedding photographer, I also use this location a ton for couples sessions and elopements.
We kept things simple, capturing some sweet posed moments that were must haves for their announcement cards. I felt so honored that they came back to me to capture this for them. We made it exactly what they were hoping for.
