An Olde Town Arvada Family Session with Macy and Ben
There are families who you photograph once, and then there are the families you get lucky enough to photograph again and again. I’ve been photographing this family for more than six years now, and every time I see them, it feels like catching up with old friends. Getting to watch their family grow through my camera is one of my favorite parts of being a Denver family photographer.
They live within walking distance of Olde Town Arvada, so when we started planning their most recent family session, we knew this was the perfect spot. We chose an early Sunday morning, which ended up being such a good call. This little corner of Arvada was practically empty! I think we saw maybe five other people out walking around the entire morning, which is pretty wild for a Sunday.
And honestly, Olde Town Arvada is such a gem for family photos. There are so many cute storefronts, little streets, greenery, and pockets of character that make the area feel fun and relaxed without needing to go somewhere super remote. If you’re considering an Olde Town Arvada family session, I highly recommend going early, especially on a weekend.
One important thing to keep in mind if you’re planning a summer session: the Sunday Olde Town Arvada farmers market gets BUSY. It’s such a fun part of the neighborhood, but definitely not ideal on a summer Sunday if you’re hoping for a quiet morning of family photos. So just check for events happening here before scheduling your session.
The last time I photographed this family, their son was barely sitting up on his own. Now, just 14 months later, he is RUNNING around. How does that happen?! It absolutely blows my mind how much little ones can change in such a short amount of time.
These four are seriously the cutest, and I feel incredibly lucky that I get to keep documenting their family through the years.
