In-Home Family Session in Dallas, Texas

There’s something so special about photographing families in the comfort of their own homes. As a photographer, I love when sessions take place in meaningful spaces — the ones where real memories are made every day. This in-home family session in Dallas, Texas with Kaitlin and Kyle was exactly that: warm, relaxed, and full of love.
I first met Kaitlin and Kyle years ago when I photographed their wedding in South Lake Tahoe. I recently added their day after portrait session from their wedding day to my blog. You can see that session here! Getting to reconnect and capture this next chapter of their lives together was such an honor. It’s one of my favorite parts of what I do — following my couples’ stories as they grow and evolve. When I was back home in Dallas recently, we decided to plan a sweet and cozy in-home family session to celebrate their growing family and document life as it is right now.
Shooting their family session at home
From the moment I walked in, their home was filled with so much laughter, toys scattered in the living room, and that familiar buzz of family life. We shot in their favorite spaces — the front porch, their backyard, and the living room with the best morning light. I encouraged them to simply be — playing with their little ones, and soaking in these fleeting moments.
These sessions always remind me why I love capturing families this way. There’s no need for perfect posing or fancy backdrops — just genuine connection, emotion, and the comfort of home. Every photo feels like a small piece of their story. I’m so grateful I got to spend the morning with this sweet family during my time back in Texas. Kaitlin and Kyle — thank you for inviting me into your home and letting me document your beautiful, everyday magic.
