This past summer, I had the absolute joy of photographing Jenny and Alberto’s proposal at one of my favorite Colorado locations, Mount Falcon West. Just minutes from Denver, it’s one of those rare places that feels like a true mountain escape without requiring a long drive. For couples looking for a stunning, convenient backdrop, a Mount Falcon engagement truly offers the best of both worlds.
This Mount Falcon engagement was especially memorable because of how peaceful it felt. During the week, the trails can be incredibly quiet, making it seem like you have the entire place to yourselves. That kind of privacy is perfect for a proposal. The landscape is breathtaking year-round, and it looks just as incredible at sunrise as it does at sunset. No matter the season, a Mount Falcon engagement delivers golden light, sweeping foothill views, and that unmistakable Colorado beauty.
There’s a rocky overlook slightly off the main trail that is my favorite place to shoot. It feels tucked away and intimate, with panoramic views that stretch for miles. That’s exactly where Alberto chose to propose to Jenny. The setting couldn’t have been more perfect.
What makes this Mount Falcon engagement even more special is how close we came to rescheduling. Storms were in the forecast all day, and the radar showed rain nearly everywhere around us. But as we got closer to session time, the weather began clearing—almost exclusively over Mount Falcon West. I am so glad we trusted our instincts and kept our date because the evening turned out absolutely beautiful.
Photographing Alberto’s proposal and Jenny’s joyful “yes” was such an honor. I already know their wedding at Arapahoe Basin this summer is going to be nothing short of incredible, and I truly cannot wait to document the next chapter of their love story.
